lissa-anglin1 Comment

I can hardly believe this is actually happening- but I am planning a workshop this winter! I have always wanted to be about the business of helping other photographers like I have been helped myself, and this is that dream. Save the date!

This workshop will be limited to a small number of attendees to ensure that each are able to get an in-depth, personal experience. If you would like to get on the workshop mailing list and be notified when registration is open (and get an early registration discount!), please email me at lissa.anglin@me.com, or use the contact form in the menu bar.

I'm so glad to have been able to capture Richard and Joni's wedding day at The Legacy. It was a gorgeous September day- and everything went so smoothly. I loved photographing these two. Richard's expression and love for Joni was so evident in his interaction with her that day- and Joni seemed to breeze through the day...enjoying every moment. Joni had her hand in all the details and decor, which were so personal and beautiful. They ended the night with a suprise for their guests- a mariachi band! Everyone loved it- hope you do too!

I just wanted to share some of my favorites from Cassie's bridal session. Cassie is such a refreshing and kind spirit- and her dress fit her personality and style perfectly. I love it when brides are not afraid to let me experiment with new locations and ideas- and Cassie was so great with that!

I really have no excuse for as to why I have not blogged one of my favorite. weddings. ever. Brett and Sarah were married amost a year ago- and it's about time I share these photos! When Sarah said the words "Florida" and "beach" and "d.i.y."- I knew I was in! And of course, this wedding did not disappoint. Full of creative carnival-style details, beautiful blue water, mustaches, and a custom made beer that Brett brewed just for the occasion, it was nothing short of extraordinary. Did I mention there were cupcakes involved?

Brett + Sarah = total awesomeness.

Our trip to Puerto Rico last month to photograph Charlie + Mari's wedding was nothing short of a big, fat, family vacation. We now had a toddler, two new guys (I know my Dad and Shawn were pumped about that), and some friends doing vacay with us. It was a little exhausting- but good. I'm so, so thankful that I have a great family to get exhausted with. :) Looking back, I'm disappointed that I didn't shoot more photos- I really battled with getting to relax and getting everythign documented. We had some great beach time, plenty of good food, and also traveled to see friends in Ponce one day.

Instead of giving you a play-by-play of what we did, I'm sharing the treasured moments that I will remember most.

Knox was such a great traveler. We flew/drove for 21 hours that day.

Shawn and I ventured a few blocks down to the beach one night. This image was shot with an led flashlight with my 14-24mm at 4000 iso, 2.8 @ 1/8.

This little kid LOVED the waves. So much it made me a bit nervous! Head-first was his preferred entry method.

Some of our favorite Brazilians and Puerto Rican- missing Mari who had to work that day. These guys were so much fun.

Dress-alike day for Dad and Ty.

Steven and Lauren cooked dinner for us one night and made these amazing empanadas.

Till next time!

I've already had many requests for the ever-popular Mini-Sessions I offer this time each year, so I'm excited to roll out this year's Christmas card designs along with them!

Now until Dec. 1st, 2012, you can book a Mini-Session! These sessions are shorter than my regular portrait sessions, and have been a very popular choice for families wanting some photos for Christmas cards- though they are not limited to families only! Here is the info:

Mini-Sessions 60.00

• 30-45 minutes in length

• 1 outfit

• 1 location

• Prints and Christmas Cards available for purchase (no print credit included)

The digital negatives of Mini-Sessions will be available for 300.00 a la carte (a 200.00 savings!).

If you'd like to book a Mini-Session, please email me at lissa.anglin{at}me.com. I typically shoot these sessions on weekdays, though there will be a few Saturdays available. If you are in the Amarillo area, please let me know- I may be setting aside a special day for you Amarilloans!

Along with the Mini-Sessions, I love creating customized Christmas cards for my clients. We begin with one of the templates below, insert your photos (color or black and white), and customize the colors, text, and design to fit your needs!

Template A

(Top Left) Front Side, (Top Right) Back Side, (Bottom) Inside Spread

Template B

(Top Left) Front Side, (Top Right) Back Side, (Bottom) Inside Spread

Template C

(Top Left) Front, (Right) Inside Spread, (Bottom Left) Back

Template D

(Top Left) Front Side, (Top Right) Back Side, (Bottom) Inside Spread

Template E

(Top Left) Front, (Right) Inside Spread, (Bottom Left) Back

Any of these designs can be adapted to fit a postcard (2 sided) or folded card (4 sided). I'm also excited to offer them in boutique shapes! Here are a few examples of the unique shapes:

I loved getting to shoot Ryan and Jennifer's engagement session this past week. The clouds over Lubbock sort of hovered over us, allowing us a really beautiful even lighting that I wish I could witness more often! These two will be married in January- and were so, so nice. I know their wedding will be lots of fun!

Ryan is a big hunter so they thought it would be appropriate to wear a little camo. :)

Thanks for a great session, you guys! Can't wait for the wedding!
