The I Love Love Sale • Day 4

lissa-anglinComment

There are two things I love dearly in life- the first- Love! (Hello? I'm a wedding photographer.) And the second? A great sale! So, in honor of the most LOVEly day of the year (Valentine's Day), I'm putting on a SALE! Each day, for the entire week of Valentine's, I will be offering a special sale exclusive to that day only. There will be five total- and the deals will get sweeter with each passing day!

Today I LOVE:

My Job. I've shot landscape, food, and jewelry- but they're nothing compared to working with real people. I love getting to capture someone genuinely.

The day of Aimee + Brien's engagement shoot was super hot, and I had already had quite a busy day taking care of various things- so when I met these two I was so refreshed. I totally enjoyed photographing them and talking about all sorts of things- mostly their adventures! They are both originally from Baton Rouge and have lived in Lubbock while Brien worked at UMC. Soon, though, they'll be relocating to Denver for Brien's residency. (Complete change of scenery!)

I love photographing couples who have known each other for a long time- there is a sense of comfort and belonging there- they're just able to communicate without having to use too many words.

Here are some of my favorites from their session!

Don't you think Aimee looks a bit like Jennifer Aniston?

Last week I got to drive out to the small West Texas town of Olton, Texas to photograph Dan + Natalie's engagement session. These two met in college at TCU and have settled down in the place Dan grew up. Dan is a cattle rancher, and so it was appropriate to go out to his property for their shoot. I know I asked a zillion silly questions ("so, like, how much do each one of these cows weigh?"), but Dan was so patient with me! I had a great time with he and Natalie- and can't wait for their wedding at the Baker Building next month!

Shaun and Elizabeth met at Elizabeth's TTU Law School orientation. He noticed her as she was getting her new I.D. made, and he caught her eye when he introduced himself as a tutor for one of her classes. Well, of course Elizabeth needed tutoring from the cute law student...and after not one, not two, but three attempts at going on a first date these two were finally a couple. Since they spend so much time at the TTU Law Building, it was the most appropriate place to begin their Engagement Session.

When they don't have their heads buried in law books, they like to play board games together...which gets them even more cool points in my book!

Check out this Scrabble board Elizabeth created that reflected their relationship! I think I would go down really fast in a game against her. :)

Alan + Emerald. They just sound like they go together- and they do. These two have been together a long time and are getting married in Cancun this December. It's photoshoots like this one where I leave loving my job- I have an excuse to meet people like Alan + Emerald! They both had terrific attitudes and were so much fun. Plus, Emerald had some rockin' shoes. :) We did a little mini-shoot to get some images for their Save the Date cards- here are some of my favorites:

I promise I made zero color adjustments to Emerald's eyes in this one- there is a reason her name fits her so perfectly!

My friend Ashlee called me the day after she got engaged to let me know Brett had popped the question- and I was so excited! These two are so much fun, and I am totally honored to photograph their wedding next summer. Ashlee and Brett both have very busy schedules and are doing their engagement long-distance- but were able to find some time for an engagement session before I go on maternity leave. We began at the airport! Brett flies planes and actually proposed to Ashlee mid-flight (can you say romantic?!?). Here are some of my faves:
