Art, décor, family and photography- it's all part of me!

Blake is a senior from Seminole that I met last Saturday morning. She and her mother drove in for the photoshoot (and to make a stop at Target- one of my favorite places). They witnessed my terrible driving skills and cheesy jokes and were still as nice as ever! Thanks so much Blake- you were a wonderful subject, and congrats on your graduation!

Hi everyone,
My website hosting experienced a hardware failure and is being moved to a new server. This means that if you are trying to view my website or your proofs you won't be able to for a while.

It should be fixed shortly, but in the meantime you can all watch a video of my dog. (Warning: this video contains me being ridiculous.)

Kala is a senior from Borger and I have known her family for a long time! She came down last week and aside from the fender bender we experienced (sorry, Nicole!) we had a great time. We wandered around downtown and had a lot of laughs as well. Here are a few of my favorites:

What a gorgeous girl! I have been wanting to shoot this spot for a while now:

I must have an obsession with tires- they just find me!

I love the vintage feel:

Zach and Shanna brought over some awesome artwork given to them by their nephew, Issac. Here's one of Issac at their wedding last month:

I LOVE children's artwork, so much so that I am only a few weeks away from being certified to teach it. So I get excited anytime I see something like this:

It is Issac's portrait of the band (and Shanna and I). Issac's mommy wrote out who everyone was. "Um-Z" is Zach, Issac's uncle. I like that I have "stick up hair"- haha!

I hope that when I have kids I'm able to make a collection of their artwork- it is such a unique and priceless thing! One of my favorite quotes is by Pablo Picasso:

"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain one once he grows up."

Introducing my sister-in-law, Emily! Emily is a senior this year (which is so crazy!), and so she came down this last week for her official senior photoshoot. The sky was gray and it was terribly WINDY, but it didn't stop us. We strolled down 34th street and had a great time discovering new spots to shoot. We ended up at a softball complex (Emily plays 1st base), and by that time our eyes were watering and we were afraid we'd get blown over. Thankfully we were finished and Starbucks was close by. I'm really excited about the images we got! Here are a few of my favorites:

Josh and Lauren were married Saturday at Westminster Presbyterian in Amarillo. I have known Josh for a while, but this was my first time meeting Lauren in person, and it really was a pleasure to get to know her as well.

It was evident that Josh and Lauren both are very loved- I have never seen a church that packed! Ushers were lining up seats down the aisles-- just evidence of the love and support that surrounds this special couple.

It was a gorgeous day, and thankfully the bride and groom were up for doing whatever crazy thing I asked them to do. Here are just a few of my favorites:

First glance...

A tribute to the couple's new last name, York:

It was also great to see everyone from Wayland- hopefully it won't be so long until next time!

I had a great time with Miles and his family this past week during his senior photoshoot. They drove in from Clovis on a perfect spring day and after a stop at Starbucks we were ready to go! Miles brought along some great clothing choices thanks to his stylist (and sister), and some Blue-Steel looks to go along with them. (I think Derek Zoolander would be jealous!)

Thanks you guys- hope you're having a great Spring Break!

This week I had the privilege of spending some time with Carson and his parents. He just turned 1! This is such a sweet little boy- he hardly ever stops smiling. We did a very casual shoot in their home, which was perfect for a 1 year old. I feel like I learned a little bit about what life is like at this age...

A 1 year old loves to play...

And is very curious...

And can't wait for Daddy to come home!

Loves his time with mommy...

And with Daddy...

And knows that when he falls, Daddy will be there to pick him up...

But all the while, he can't wait to pull a suprise!

I had so much fun with you guys- thanks so much for letting me document your afternoon and the love in your family!

just a little announcement

I have been having a few problems with my website for the past week or so and haven't received all of the emails sent through the "Contact" section. If you've been trying to reach me, or if I haven't replied to your email I apologize. Please re-send me your message at lissa.anglin@gmail.com. Thanks so much everyone! My clients are the BEST!

Also, I just booked the last available session for March, and because I've been receiving a lot of phone calls lately, I thought I'd let everyone know that if you are wanting to book a shoot within the next couple months (particularly seniors) to call as soon as possible so that you are guaranteed a spot.

I met up with Karen and Blake yesterday to shoot a fun engagement session. These two are getting married at Three Falls Cove this summer and after spending some time with them, I really can't wait to do their wedding. We began in a patch of salt cedar (which Blake educated me on), and since they met through rodeo, it was apropos to get some of them in their cowboy attire after that.

Thanks so much you guys! Till next time!
