After working with Bryan and Sarah, I'm not sure there are more thoughtful, kind, intentional people out there. These two were so much fun to capture as they transitioned form two to one.

Sarah had thought of everything. There were so many sentimental and special details sprinkled throughout the wedding day, I was amazed she'd had time to consider and execute them all!

Bryan and Sarah were married in the same church I was many years ago- First Baptist Church, Borger, and had their reception at one of the prettiest places in the Panhandle- Three Falls Cove. Enjoy their images!

The most memorable part of our day for me was definitely our first dance. We were nervous about looking like we didn’t know how to dance, so we started teaching ourselves how to “fancy two-step” from a YouTube video a week before our wedding. We practiced every evening and had a ton of fun while doing it.

Sarah’s mom’s toast was hilarious. She asked God to turn the ankles of our enemies so that we would know them by their limps — hilarious!

I thought this note from Sarah was helpful:

We wouldn’t change a thing! Okay, maybe we’d change one thing. We bought WAY too much wine, beer, and champagne. Many people online recommend one drink per guest per hour, and (for our wedding, at least) we have a ton left over.

These two spent a little over a week in Hawaii for their honeymoon and I enjoyed living vicariously through them as they kayaked, ate, and explored.

Many congratulations, you two!

I am so proud to call Lauren, owner of HOUSEofLOVELY, my sister. The custom bridal pieces she creates on a day-to-day basis amaze me and I can vouch for the giant amount of love and creativity she pours into each piece.

I love that the brides who wear a HOUSEofLOVELY piece can know that someone has lovingly sourced, constructed, and perfected it to perfectly compliment their style. The quality of her work and attention to detail amazes me.

Lauren recently added bridal garters to her line of very wonderful handcrafted accessories, and I'm giving one away!

Ahhh- I love Canyon- and I was excited to meet Grant (and his sweet Mom and sister) there to shoot his senior photos! We had a gorgeous morning to shoot and I had a great time talking with Grant. He'll be headed to Kansas next year to play baseball, and I'm sure that will be an awesome adventure. We went to Palace Coffee for a bit- which is a place I've wanted to visit for a while now. Apparently, it is also Grant's second home. :) I had a lemon latte (yes, I know- sounds a bit weird) but it was so good! Definitely worth a stop next time you're in the area.

Best wishes next year, Grant! I know God will do amazing things with you!

Meet beautiful Emily. She is a senior at Cooper High School and also in the small group I help lead. This girl is smart, funny, and very talented- she went to state with her band last year and loves playing the flute! She is also a very hard worker- something I admire very much. We had a very pretty (and a little windy) Lubbock day to shoot- and I had such a great time with Emily. Here are some of my favorites from her shoot!

Meet Kirsten! This lady is so much fun- she is funny, easy to talk to, and just gorgeous! Kirsten is graduating from TTU in just a few weeks and I loved getting to shoot with her. I am positive that she has some incredible things ahead of her- she is passionate and driven. I also loved her style- which makes sense- she is involved in the Texas Tech Retail Association, amongst other clubs and activities. We had a beautiful day to shoot, and I'm so in love with these images.

who broke africa?

The longer we are in this adoption process, I realize....

It's not our daughter we are helping, it is she who is helping us. She is giving us a gift.

Every day, our perspectives are challenged, and though it is uncomfortable, I am so terribly thankful.

I saw this on photographer and adoptive mom Jennifer Verme's blog today and couldn't help but repost it.

"But brokenness belongs to us all, but hope- only to those who come together, before God."

Loree is so much fun. She is graduating from the TTU School of Nursing next month and wanted to have some photos done to celebrate this very important milestone in her life! I have a huge respect for nurses and all they do- our world wouldn't be the same without their help and care. Loree just found out that she'll be staying in Lubbock for her new career, too!

I loved photographing her and her gorgeous hair. Seriously. It's fabulous just like she is. :)

my babe, truett knox • 2 years old

One thing I know I don't do enough is photograph my family. So I am working on it! This day last week I wanted to play with multiple exposures, and maybe choosing a 2 year old for my subject wasn't the wisest choice! Knox was destroying his changing table while I photographed him. :)

I love this little guy. This morning, he woke up singing, got out of bed, and kept singing as he walked through the house. It was really sweet. He's at the age now that he can put together short sentences, and is adamant about letting us know what he needs (that is not new). I am so thankful for him. He's affectionate, and listens well. He plays well alone, and loves his bike. Things are very simple for him, and I am doing my best to take the same point of view, too.

I wanted to do a few multiple exposures that featured him with things that reminded me of him- so there are some of his bedding fabrics, his paper cranes, and a painting in our hallway.

Here is yet another very special lady I've gotten to know through church. Calin is someone I believe in a whole lot. Watching her grow in her faith has been a blessing to me, and I can't wait to see where God takes her next! I felt like I was photographing Pocahontas during our entire shoot, so I might just have a new nickname for her. :)

You are beautiful inside and out, Calin!
