Anna drove in from the tiny town of Merkel, Texas on a cold morning here in Lubbock to shoot her senior photos. There was still snow on the ground, but I was so thankful she was up for shooting in the cold! We had some beautiful light and I just loved talking with her. Anna's planning to work somewhere in the graphic design field- I'm confident whatever she put her mind to, she'll do! Congrats Anna!erkel M

Russell and Jaclyn met me at 9 am to shoot their engagement session one Saturday morning, and I am so thankful they did! We had some gorgeous weather and I totally enjoyed talking with them. It was a great reminder that God really orchestrates things in a way that we'd never be able to do. Marriage is such a gift. Finding each other is a gift. I'm so glad I get to photograph these two as they go from one step to the next. Thanks so much for an awesome shoot!

Baby drool. I don't know why it's so cute, but it is.

I may have captured my best baby drool photo ever during this session. I'll let you be the judge.

This sweet family was great to work with- and baby Roel was the happiest kid ever. I love my job. It's such a joy to get to capture stages of life like this one.

I cannot believe the beautiful fall weather we have been having here in Lubbock (as I type a snowstorm is forecasted for tomorrow morning…West Texas, everyone!). But really, it has been so gorgeous- all the leaves are in various shades and I've just been eating it up!

The morning of this shoot was so nice- just a slight breeze and in the high 60's. Adding to my joy was this sweet family. These little boys were so great the whole time, and I loved getting to play with them (and their parents!). Haha- I joke that in family sessions the parents have to work harder than I do- but it's really the truth.

Here are a few of my favorite images of this gorgeous family!

Oh, how I love fall weddings! This one was perfectly accented with some autumn decor, as well. Scott and Sarah met at my alma mater, Wayland Baptist University, and were married last month!

These two are a joy to photograph and be around. Their excitement for marriage was clear and refreshing. I loved the navy + orange accents. There were a few funny moments on their wedding day- after their kiss during the ceremony, the groomsmen held out hidden "scorecards", and then later at the reception, helped Sarah achieve the perfect cake smash.

I'm so honored to have photographed this first day of marriage for these two. Here are many of my favorite images!

It is the season for family portraits- which means I get to see faces that have grown a whole year older and enjoy the beautiful fall weather we're having around here. I first met this awesome family last year, and couldn't wait to photograph them again. These four boys are all so different and so much fun. I had a great time talking dinosaurs, ninjas, and throwing stuff. It was much like my home. :)

Seriously, though- what a great bunch! We had a great shoot and here are some of my favorites!

There is so much I loved about Mark and Tara's wedding. First- the people- I am proud to call them family and it was so special for me to get to photograph this wedding. Second- the emphasis on Christ. There were so many symbolic and intentional elements incorporated. The most prevalent was the shofar. At the beginning of the ceremony, a shofar (a ram's horn) was blown just before the Mark walked down the aisle. The Bible says that this is the sound we will hear as Christ comes back for his church. It was incredible to hear the sound and watch Mark walk into the sanctuary, waiting expectantly for Tara.

It was a blessing to watch Mark and Tara's excitement for marriage (not just the wedding) and see them love on others throughout their wedding day. The ceremony was at the beautiful First Baptist Church in Amarillo, and the reception was at Happy State Bank.

I'm also in love with all the details- my mom and friends were behind it all! I loved the grey and gold color scheme and my grandpa's maize in the floral arrangements. They did an incredible job.

Enjoy some of my favorites!

I love a morning engagement session- especially one that begins in a blooming cotton field. Kara intentionally scheduled their session during the time of year that the cotton is at it's prettiest- knowing that farming is something that both Jared and Kara have in their history (and future). We had a gorgeous day to shoot- hitting up some of their frequented spots in the Hub City. Can't wait to shoot their wedding at Ransom Canyon next summer!

jamie + annabelle • wedding at tierra del corazon

I had conversed with Annabelle over email for months before actually getting to meet her and Jamie in person. Instantly, her Venezuelan accent made me feel at home (my Brazilian sister, Mariana, sounds almost exactly the same- well, to this Texan anyway). I got to hear about their meeting and their wedding day plans...I loved seeing how this couple had a simple vision for the day that still incorporated so many special people.

She and Jamie were such a pleasure to work for and photograph. Their wedding was at Tierra del Corazon, in New Deal, Texas. It was a beautiful night and getting to work with this loving and affectionate couple was just icing on the cake. I could have shot in the fields out there forever!

Annabelle filled a "unity piñata" with candy and they broke it at the reception. They did forget the rope to hang it with, but it made it even more fun that they had to hold it for each other. It was a fun detail that everyone loved!
