Art, décor, family and photography- it's all part of me!

andrew + kristin

Andrew and Kristin were married last Saturday in Amarillo. I had a great day with these two and their friends and family. It was a beautiful spring day.

Kristen had two dresses for the evening-- this is the second one. I think I heard someone say, "it's very Jackie O.", and I agree!

The groom:

I loved all the colors of the bridesmaids' dresses- and the fact that they had pockets!

A simply gorgeous bride:

The girls were dying to do this, haha:

Probably my favorite images of the day:

The most fashionable ringbearers ever!

This cake topper had been used for four generations:

Congratulations you two!

new senior slideshow!

To celebrate this year's senior class, I just finished working on a new seniors slideshow for my website's homepage. I'd love for you to go check it out! You may see some familiar faces. :)

Don't worry- if I haven't shot your senior session yet, you will be added too! Thanks so much to all the seniors this year who have listened to all my crazy ideas and allowed me to be creative. Best of luck you guys!

chris + bethany = engaged!

My good friends Chris and Bethany have been dating for a while, and a couple of days ago, Chris let us know that he was going to propose! In a matter of about 24 hours, he had asked for her parents' blessing, bought the ring, and had a perfect plan. I was so excited to get to photograph the whole thing. Chris planned the event at a park where they frequently take walks-- he had the specific tree in mind that he wanted to stop at. I got to the special spot a little early to capture the preparation:

Chris carving their initials into one of the limbs:

The finished product, with BB's new initials:

I was staked out under some low branches of a tree about 50 yards away, so Bethany didn't even see me when they walked up!

He had tied the ring to a long red ribbon:

Popping the question:

She said yes!

The tree really was a nice backdrop:

Realizing that they're not alone!

It was such an exciting event. Both of them were just beaming and I feel so special for getting to be there and photograph it!

The Cardenas clan, who helped out with the prep. They hid in someone's yard with binoculars!

Congrats you guys! I am so thankful for friends like you!

Colt is a friend of mine from high school, and when he contacted me to do an engagement photoshoot, I was so excited. I knew this would be a fun couple- and they really were! They are a great match. I had a hard time picking my favorites, so stay tuned- there are more than usual.

This was written on the windowsill- how appropriate!

I give Colt's Dad full credit for this one, which is one of my top 3:

I love real moments like this:

Saturday morning Jordan, Abby, and their families all caravaned to Amarillo to meet me for their Senior Photoshoots. It was windy and cold, and the way everyone was wrapped in blankets reminded me of those cold early-morning track meets in high school (not that I was the one actually running). These girls were so much fun and never stopped providing me with beautiful shots. They braved the cold and it was worth it! Here are some of my favorites:

We grabbed a couple of shots with little sis:

Some gorgeous close-ups:

A little pattern anyone?

Madeline was the first of a series of photoshoots I did this past weekend in Amarillo. We ventured up and down a few streets and found some pretty nice light. Not everyone can wear pink eyeshadow, but this girl ROCKED IT! She had such a chilled out attitude and it made for some great images. Thanks Madeline!

email issues!

lissa-anglinComment

WOW! I just checked my spam inbox (which I rarely ever do), and realized that I had over 50 messages generated from my website that I have never seen!

I so apologize if you have attempted to contact me and I have not gotten back with you. I will be doing my best to return every email as soon as possible.

In the meantime, if you would like to guarantee that I will receive your message, please do it through the link on the right hand side of my blog. I am moving everything to a much more consistent and efficient system as I type.

Once again, I apologize for the communication issues. There is nothing more frustrating to me!

jenifer + jared

While I was "on tour" with the band this past week I was able to meet up with Jared and Jenifer for their engagement session. I'll be shooting their wedding this July and it was great to have some time to get to know them before the big day. Somehow, we avoided the rainstorm while we shot at a city park near downtown Houston. It was hot, but I'll trade the heat for a green landscape any day! Thanks you guys- until next time!

Side note: We had talked about shooting at this fountain before the photoshoot, so we made a point to get over to it-- but right as we walked up the whole thing turned off and dried off! By the time we had come up with another plan, it came back on, haha!

i love it!

I love seeing stuff like this! This is a scrapbook page that one of my clients created with a image from a photoshoot we did last fall. It's so neat to see it taken to the next level- and preserved at the same time. Great job Ember!

The second I saw Michelle, I got so excited to photograph her. I loved that dark hair! She was also a lot of fun and added a lot of personality to the photoshoot. I got quite a few images I really love- and the light in the last location was sweet enough to eat. Congrats Michelle!
