Art, décor, family and photography- it's all part of me!

the myers family

Not too long ago, the Myers family put their ENTIRE DAY on hold so that Dave could fix my car. I was supposed to drive it to Santa Fe the very next day, and without his help we would have made it! Did I mention that we had never even met? Yes, that's the kind of people they are.

They are such a chilled out and playful family, and I really enjoyed getting to capture all the little moments between them during this session. How about some pictures?

Mila is a really good big sister to Corbin.

Now this is a family picture.

This is a classic Mila face. She can be quite serious for a 3 year old.  I have a habit of saying, "No way!"...and her response was always, "Yes way!".

Quite possibly my fave. I could look at this one for a few hours.

Hot Mama!

At the very end of the session, a ladybug came to sit on my camera. This is Mila discovering you can let it walk on you!

Thanks so much you guys for all you have done! You guys are wonderful!

The day of their Engagment Photoshoot was my first day to meet these two- and as with any new clients, there's always a nervous anticipation for me. Little did I know how cool they would be! Logan plays in a band (fun stuff like old-school Usher) and Courtney is a teacher. If it tells you anything, they're having Rock Band set up at their reception- awesome!

We began at Tech, and then wandered over to the place where they first met- Rocky La Rue's. Logan was playing with his band and Courtney was totally checking him out. I loved getting to capture the way they give each other caring attention...and also Courtney's stunning eyes.

Proof that they both have great smiles as well!

I turned around and they were standing like this. Are you kidding me?

Working with Ashley highlighted everything I love about seniors! She showed us her fun and carefree personality while wearing a great selection of outfits...and all the while was able to ignore the vivacious West Texas wind we had that day.

Shawn (who played reflector-boy for me) and I enjoyed playing with the light, and I love so many of the images from this session...but here are a few for you blog-readers!

hey all you iphone users!

I now have a customized iPhone icon that you can put on your home screen! I know you want to be reading my blog while you're waiting in line at the post office...so I'm making it quick and easy for you. :)

It's a pretty simple process, so just follow the directions below.

1) First, go to my website using Safari. (Just type in "www.lissaanglin.com")

2) Then, click on the middle photo that says "Blog".

3) Next, you want to click on the "+" symbol at the bottom middle of the screen. This will appear:

4) Click "Add to Home Screen". You'll see this screen:

5) Type in the text you'd like to appear under the icon. I would suggest "Studio Blue Blog" or "The Most Awesome, Talented, and Amazingly Beautiful Photographer Ever"...although that might be a little too long. (Please excuse my cheesiness.)

Click "Add" in the upper right hand corner, and ta-da! There I am in the bottom right hand corner of the screen!

Now you can visit me anytime you like!

I hadn't seen Byron and Moriah in a long time- so I was super excited when they wanted to take advantage of my Loveshoot special for Valentine's Day. They brought their little Yorkie-poo, Ike, who was so adorable.

If they look like fun people, it's because they are.

I couldn't decide which one I like better...

How the above image was made possible:

I like Ike.

There was an abandoned couch nearby. Although I didn't plan on using it, how could we resist?!? A little GIF action for your viewing pleasure...

Gorgeous Moriah, laughing at Byron, of course...

Thanks so much you guys! Hope dinner was awesome!

I've been at my computer all morning/afternoon, so I decided to take a "creative break". I wandered into my backyard (it's beautiful weather) to find this...

Good thing Shawn's Mom got her granddogs some Paul Mitchell dog shampoo for Christmas!

On another note- anyone have any tips on grass-growing? Our backyard is very spotty- we haven't been able to cultivate much more than a few sprigs since we moved in. Maybe I'll go buy one of those tractor sprinklers. :)

You can see Lola's first mud-fest here.

richard + claire = engaged!

This weekend I had a very special task. My friend Richard- who Shawn and I cheered with in college, Shawn lived with- was proposing to his girlfriend! He booked me on a very early flight to Dallas so I could help him prepare and photograph the whole event, plus shoot an engagement session immediately after.

It was a great day, and he had the proposal very well planned. I think she was completely suprised- and it was so special to get to see how in love they are. I love that their engagement pictures are literally of the time they got engaged. Pretty cool!

I'm going to share some of my favorites throughout the day, and some from their session...but you can check out the slideshow to see how it all went down!

Richard's list-

A nervous Richard. We did about an hour of waiting in the church where he was to propose- but the plans went off without a hitch.

They're looking at a July 4th wedding- how fun! Congratulations you guys- thanks so much for letting me be a part.

Just wanted to bring my new blog header (look up!) and my new welcome page banner to your attention- I'll be changing these monthly so you can have a glimpse of the wonderful people I've been looking at. :)

Also- not sure if anyone noticed- but I put a little section down to the right showcasing what I'm knitting, what I'm reading, and what I'm listening to. I love recommending things, I've noticed. Not in a salesperson kind of way- but I'm very loyal- if I like something, I want everyone around me to know about it.

Hope you all have had a wonderful week so far!

Last week Lubbock hosted 80 mph winds- the same day I had a shoot scheduled with Malcolm. Since he was driving down from Tulia, I knew we had to push through it- and it was well worth it! This guys showed up with not one, but two guitars and a great attitude. Despite the wind and the occasional pit bull :), we got some rockin' senior photos for him.

A friend of Paramore is a friend of mine...

Yes, there are plenty "smiling" pictures, too!
