I came across it during a photoshoot the other day and it smelled delicious. I'm wanting to plant it in my from yard flower bed! Anyone know what it is?

1 CommentDid I mention I love seniors? I got to photograph Heather on a beautiful morning last week. She had just come back from a fun ski trip in Colorado and I got a little jealous! We ventured around Lubbock and had a great time. Heather's planning to go to Texas A&M next year and I have to show my Aggie support since my littlest sister goes there too! Go Aggies!
Natalie at Kadiza did an excellent job (as always) on Heather's hair for her shoot.
Rockin the Sperrys!
Heather, I hope you have a fantastic rest of the year and absolutely love A&M!
shiloh + amber
3 CommentsI have to say, I truly treasure the opportunity I get to capture big life moments for my friends. I grew up with Amber- we cheered together in high school, and ever since I can remember we were in the same little circle of friends. I don't think back them I would have ever thought, "One day, I'll photograph your wedding"...but that's been true of many of my friends so far. So, I really feel blessed and honored by that.
Last week I got to hang out with Shiloh and Amber while we photographed their Engagement session. We had a great time, although there were some run-ins that ensued...more on that later. Check out these gorgeous people!
So, after taking the above shot I see the perfect blue door right across the street. We hop on over and immediately I love it- it's the EXACT same color as Amber's eyes...
During our conversation, Shiloh says, "So, have you ever gotten into trouble for tresspassing?" Up until then, my answer was "NO!"...but unfortunately I can't say that anymore....
Apparently that beautiful blue door was property of the Railroad, and in my pursuit of that perfect color I had ignored all of the "No Tresspassing" signs! I have never been a rule-breaker (in fact, quite the opposite- I really like structure and guidelines), and so it would have been sufficient to been told to leave and never come back, but I wasn't so lucky. Ladies and gentleman, I paid a lovely fee for my citation and thankfully Shiloh and Amber were cool. We got the heck out of there and finished out the shoot!
Needless to say, I am paying a LOT more attention to signs now...
Thanks so much you two! Congratulations!

meredith
2 CommentsI have known Meredith since I was very little. We are the same age and so we frequently had the same things going on- in fact, I think I recall a picture of us standing outside our elementary school before the first day of Kindergarten!
Meredith will very soon graduate from law school at Texas Tech! When I was planning for this photoshoot I knew I wanted to photograph her the way I pictured her- with books! She's always been a reader, and going through law school, I'm sure she's had quite a few to read.
We had a beautiful day- and green grass! To make things even more fun, it was Meredith's birthday! I'm so glad she took some time out of her special day to hang out with me. Enough talking- pictures!
Congratulations Meredith!!!

1 CommentCrystal and her family met me last Saturday morning for her senior photoshoot. The weather was awesome and I enjoyed getting to hear about Crystal's life and plans- this girl is going to be a physical therapist! She is also a cheerleader, and later that day she cheered in a basketball playoff game. I miss those days!
You are beautiful Crystal- thanks for being so much fun!
This one is bokeh-tastic! For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, click here.
my photoshoot "first-aid" kit
8 CommentsSo, this morning I started brainstorming about a Photoshoot "First-Aid" Kit that I could keep in the back of my car (which is pretty much like home base when you're an on-location photographer). I've thought of a few ingredients, but I wanted to see if you guys have any suggestions?
Here's what I have so far:
- Safety pins
- Clamps (for securing clothing, etc.)
- Bobby pins
- Hairspray
- Lint roller
- Boots or clogs (some of my locations are, shall we say, a little remote...and walking to them in heels is not the most fun)
- Dog treats
- Blow Pops (for kids who need some enticing)
- Bubbles
- Wet wipes (for taming those stray hairs)
- Gloves
Anybody have any other ideas?
jenni + trevor maternity
CommentTwo posts in one day?!? Yes, it's true!
It had been a year since I had seen Jenni + Trevor, and a lot has changed- they are married and expecting a baby girl! They were so much fun, and I can't wait to meet miss Anslee.
We did this same shot in their Engagement Session, so I had to do another with the belly!
