These two are the kind of people that are completely refreshing to be around. Easy to talk to, easy to get along with...in love with each other- which is something I always appreciate. After their session I am SUPER pumped to shoot their wedding in August.

Rhonda is in law school and Wes works in accounting, but when they aren't up to their noses in paper, they are stormchasing. Pretty cool, huh? You've got to check out the amazing videos on Wes' YouTube site. I can't believe they can get so close!

Don't mess with Wes. :)

Hayes has broken my record for the miles per hour endured during an on-location photoshoot. My previous record of 33mph has now been replaced with the new high- 41mph. You think I'm kidding. The sky was literally brown that day.

Besides being OK with the wind, Hayes put up with all my cheesy jokes, and let me create some pretty cool images. I had a great time! Here are some of my favorites-

Last week I was at Sam's, and noticed how gorgeous the carnations looked. This is not a common occurrence. I hate carnations. But these were pretty. So, I bought them...with some pretty yellow flowers (anyone know the name of them)?

I was able to make three small vases of them and put them all over my house. It is so refreshing to have them around. I think I'll do this more often.

I shot these with my new macro lens. I also thought you guys might enjoy them as desktop images. You can download them at a larger size below for personal use!

If you keep up with my Twitter or Facebook acount, you know we welcomed 6 little puppies yesterday! I snagged a few shots of them sleeping in their box. At this stage, they look a little bit like mice! They are amazingly active, though.

This little girl (and several others) have the same marking as our male, Willy. We picked him because of his little white goatee.

Lola has been such a fantastic Mommy. Besides having them all without any help, she has made sure every one is well fed and very clean. There is always one resting right under her chin.

I'll post more as they get older (and cuter!). Happy Tuesday!

Marcus and Lacey were married on March 13 in Borger. I've been looking forward to their big day ever since their Engagement Session in the fall. It was a really gorgeous day (in the middle of a bunch of cold and windy days), and the company was wonderful. I love both of their families and so getting to be around them so much was a blast!

Checking over things with the pastor before the ceremony...

What, Marcus is just outside that window?!?

I love the pincushions in the bridesmaids' bouquets!

Love this one of Marcus and his sisters.

The reception was at the Borger Country Club. My Mom and her friend Lisa (my other Mom, haha) designed the event. Everyone loved the fish and the orchids. Give them a call- they are the best!

Now this is my kind of dancing. Haha. I told you they were fun!

What a perfect day for a shoot! The sun was finally out, and I had some great company. I shot Brooke's sister's senior session a couple of years ago (wow, that is crazy!), so I knew this would be a fun one.

Brooke totally worked it out for me which was awesome! We did a lot of wandering around- which always results in the best kind of pictures. Here are a *cough* few of my favorites.

This alley provided a variety of random seating. :)

You know I like to "play with shadows" a lot. This is a different kind of playing, thanks to Blake! Haha!

Did I mention that Brooke will be living with Kara next year? I'm not sure I've met an ugly person from Seminole yet!

West Texas may have some crazy wind, but it sure makes some awesome supermodel hair!

Thanks so much, Brooke + fam! You guys were great!

Okay, so technically she's a couple of months old- but Miss Brynli is so sweet and tiny. I have never seen a newborn so patient- we had her in several different outfits, and through it all she remained either asleep or content to let me photograph her.

We started out in their home- this little hat was knitted by my friend (and second shooter) Shanna.

For this session, we went red + black all the way! God gave us some beautiful weather and I enjoyed talking with Russ + Halley while walking through the Texas Tech campus.

These two are getting married in VEGAS in December, and then they are road-trippin' to Hollywood to soak in some of that California sun for their honeymoon. Not too shabby. ;)

Russ is currently an Engineering student, so we had to stop by the lab to see his newest project- a go-cart. Awesome!

There was some awesome light in/around Jones Stadium that day.

Kara is a senior from Seminole who drove in on a very cloudy day and totally ROCKED her Senior Photoshoot! She's been super patient while I waited to post these- it took me a bit longer just because I loved so many of the images. I had a great time with Kara and her Mom- lots of great laughs and fun.

Me: Ok, it's time for a fake laugh. Seriously. Go for it.

(I'm pretty sure my awkwardness was actually funny at this point, producing a real, beautiful laugh.)

All my favorite colors in one? Yes, please!

We were shooting in a field when we heard a train coming...so of course we had to take advantage of it! Kara did a fabulous job with the wind/moving train/overly excited photographer here.

Can you believe the clouds that day? I love the feeling in the image on the right.

Love these. So girly.

Lacey married Marcus just a few days ago, and so it's finally safe to share her gorgeous bridal portraits!

We shot these on a very blustery day in Lubbock. Right in the middle of our photoshoot, Lacey's veil took off with the wind! Much to our amazement and shock, it flew over a two-story building and landed about 100 yards away, perfectly unharmed. I knew it was windy in Lubbock, but I've never seen anything like that before!

Regardless, Lacey looked beautiful. Hair by Natalie at Kadiza.

anything interesting happen today?

It's the question I ask Shawn everyday after he comes home from work. He's finally learned to come up with at least one thing to tell me about, even if he doesn't find it that interesting at all.

Although you may not find it that interesting, I felt like writing a quick personal post today, partly so I can dump all of this info in my head, and partly to fill you all in on what's been going on at our house.

1. What's been going on at our house? Nothing, actually. We've been out of town (Dallas, Amarillo, Borger, Ruidoso) quite a bit. We took a ski trip with some friends and have been either shooting or playing shows otherwise. I love getting out of town and my sister took me to Buffalo Exchange in Dallas last weekend. It was awesome.

2. We are officially pregnant. With puppies. Lola is due the first of April and she is doing great! This will be our last litter, so if you know of anyone who may be interested in a Scottie puppy (AKC Registered), please tell them to email me so I can add them to the list. Here is Mrs. Preggo today, enjoying one of her favorite snacks:

3. Shawn and his band A Road Less Traveled will be headed out on tour with Hawk Nelson and Group 1 Crew next month. It will be a fun tour and I'm hoping to catch up with him at some of his stops. They are still looking for dates, so if you or someone you know would be interested in bringing the tour to your city, please contact book@frequencybooking.com.

4. I'm organized! After working on my office, I've tackled several other areas of my house and have discovered the value in a clean, organized space. And a label maker.

5. Yay for weddings! I'll be shooting my first one of "the season" this Saturday. It's going to be a good one, so get ready for that blog post.

6. Alice in Wonderland. I haven't seen it yet, but I'm going tonight, and I can't wait. I've been listening to the soundtrack for about a week.

7. Funerals. My sister and I traveled to Borger on Tuesday to attend a funeral for our uncles' mother. We didn't know her well, but after the service was over I was well aquainted with her legacy. She was a woman who loved the Lord and took care of so many when they were in need. I'm so glad we got to be there- not only to see our relatives, but to be reminded that our legacies consist of who we have loved and how we have loved them.

8. Work. I'm about to head out to a senior photoshoot, and the clouds can't decide if they want to stay or go. I could care less- I'm just excited to get to work! I know that times are tough, and with each photoshoot I am so honored to be chosen to capture my clients' lives. More than ever, I am realizing the importance of a life well-documented, which to me means images that are a true reflection of that person's beauty.

I have several more things brewing, but I can't tell you about them just yet! I've got just enough time to grab an americano...
