Audrey Kate may be one of the sweetest newborns I've ever photographed. She remained perfectly content for such a long time, and it was so wonderful to me to get to see her parents (my friends, Matt and Courtney) taking such sweet care of her. I traveled to Dallas to get to see her during her first couple weeks of life- and this little girl is such an angel! Thanks, Matt and Courtney for letting me come down to capture your perfect gift from God!

I've got a beautiful garden wedding to share with you today! Tom + Sam's wedding was at the Antique Rose Emporium near Brenham, Texas. This place is such a gem- it is actually a nursery where you can go to buy antique roses and other beautiful flowers, but it is also the perfect setup for a gorgeous outdoor wedding.

Sam contacted me a while ago about photography, and I was so excited to hear about her plans. She and Tom are Texas A&M grads, and have such a great group of friends and family. Paired with a beautiful location and a great group of vendors- it was perfect. Shout out to Claire from A Moment In Time! She did a fabulous job making sure everything happened flawlessly and on time. Here are some of my favorite images of their day.

Venue: Antique Rose Emporium

Wedding Gown: Alfred Angelo

Tom's family is from New Orleans, so a fleur de lis cake was perfect.

I was so excited to meet up with Tyler and Sarah in one of the coolest cities in Texas- Denton! I love this place for it's weird/artsy vibe- so many places to discover there. Denton is where Tyler and Sarah met and fell in love, so it was extra special to get to walk around downtown with them and visit some of their date and study spots. I wish I'd had more time to explore- they were excellent your guides during our session!

We were finishing up at Sarah's house and someone said, "Oh yeah...we do have a two seater bicycle in the garage...." ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? Let's bust that thing out!

Kelsea is a refreshing spirit. She has a great attitude, a fun sense of style and a great passion for life. I'm excited to see where these next few years take her, and don't doubt that she'll meet any goal she sets. Thanks so much, Kelsea, for letting me shoot your senior photos- I loved every minute of our crazy session!

Kelsea mentioned balloons in the Senior Questionnaire I send out before each session- so I suprised her with some- and the colors fit perfectly! It was meant to be!

I had so much fun with Samantha shooting her bridals in Fort Worth a few months ago. This gorgeous lady got married just a couple of weeks ago and so now I'm free to share her bridals with you! Sam is simply stunnning in her dress- and I loved getting to chase the light with her in this session. Here are a few of my favorites.

Don't you think she looks a bit like Jennifer Aniston?

Wedding post coming soon!

I am so, so excited to get to shoot the wedding if this fun couple. When I first met Richard and Joni, Richard was not shy about his reservations with photographers- like many people, he'd had more than one awkward experience with a photographer, and couldn't justify the cost considering all the other expenses that come with a wedding. Joni, on the other hand, had done her research and decided that photography was a priority for her- can you imagine the pressure I was feeling heading into this shoot?!?

Well, it was so much fun. I think I was able to convince Richard that getting his photo taken should be FUN, and that it was all worth it to invest in their photography. I even got an email from Joni a few days after the shoot that said:

Hi Lissa,

Just wanted to thank you again for well...just being so great and making our photo session so relaxed and FUN!  I couldn't stop smiling for almost a half an hour afterward...hope my pictures aren't too "cheesey".  I hate to say that i think i'm "that girl" who just can't wait till you blog...anxious.  Thanks for a memorable photo shoot...I think Richard finally warmed up to the idea of a wedding photographer (thanks to you).  He also won't stop saying "holla" (also thanks to you)!!

JONI

Yes, I have a habit of yelling, "Holler!" - say it in a white girl with a Texas accent kind of way- when I really like a shot I'm getting...I know, I'm a dork...

Well, Joni- here is your blog post! And you look absolutely gorgeous! Enjoy!

Allen and Paige are the very best kind of nerdy. (Note: I identify myself as a nerd and take it as a compliment. :) These two have just the type of personalities that I love to work with- a little quirky, very laid back, and totally in love. They suggested we begin their shoot at the TTU library- a place where they've spent much of their time over the past few years. I was in love with the rows and rows of books.

Why yes that is a collection of Ray Bradbury they are reading. Further proof they are cool.

How much do you love Paige's outfit? Of course, it's from Urban

It's not often I get to photograph extended families- especially not a family as special as this one. I've had the pleasure of shooting with Mitzi and her family a few times now, and she jumped on my Mini-Session offer in February, knowing that it was her parents' 50th wedding anniversary, and it was time to capture everyone together! I had such a wonderful time with this loving family the day before Easter. They were so easy to work with, and thankfully, trusted me when the weather threatened rain. We actually ended up with some nice cloud coverage. Here are a few of my faves from this session.

I feel like I can relate to this couple so much- they have a very similar love story to that of my own. Grew up in the same small town, hung out at church, eventually started dating and years later, they're getting married. This couple is so much fun- relaxed, laughing all the time- great attitudes. I get to photograph Ben and Shelby's wedding in a quaint little chapel this summer and I can't wait! Here are some of my favorites from their session.

We started out at the Holly Hop Ice Cream Shoppe- if you haven't been yet, go! Fun atmosphere and ICE CREAM!
