3 CommentsShawn and I drove to Tulia to photograph Chase's senior session. His sister, Laci, was my college roommate for 3 years, and it's crazy to think that Chase is graduating now! We had a lot of fun with Chase and his parents- it was a nice visit.
Chase has two dogs and so we incorporated them into the shoot. They did such a great job!
Just in case you're interested in the progress of our puppies, I added some videos under "Scottie Puppies!" at the top.
lauren's style show
2 CommentsI visited Waco this past weekend to see Lauren's senior Style Show at Baylor. It was pretty incredible to see some of those pieces wak down the runway. I was wishing I could take a few outfits for myself! Lauren (along with her classmates) has worked so hard this year to get to this point. She walked away with 4 different awards- two being "Best Problem Solver" and "Most Creative Collection"! Great job Lauren!
Here are a few shots of her clothes.
This dress is amazing. It has hand-dyed fabric and real peacock feathers on it. This was its debut- and it was a huge hit!

2 CommentsZac is a Frenship senior, and I had a great time shooting with him! We went all around town and got some pretty cool images. He'll be headed to Alaska next year for school. Alaska is definitely on my list of places to visit! My faves:
Zac is always found wearing two different colors of socks- so here's my tribute, plus a little school spirit!
I couldn't resist posting this one of Zac's little sis, who came along!
Thanks for an awesome session Zac!

CommentAshley is a senior from Lubbock who will be attending my alma mater in the fall- WBU! I had a great time talking with her about Wayland stuff and so many fun things she is about to experience. I miss those days! Thanks for a great session Ashley!
baby carson in black + white
1 CommentI mentioned baby Carson in my last post- and I couldn't resist blogging some of the images we shot one morning. He is such a sweet little boy...we had the best time playing with him! Here are a few of this much-loved baby:
Kat is a great mommy.
east asia
personal4 CommentsSeveral people have asked me to blog some images from my time in East Asia, so get ready for photo-overload! I did my best to get a good selection of what I saw...but there's just no way to describe it.
A couple mornings after I'd been home, I woke up wishing I was back in Asia. There's a different feel about life. Maybe it's culture or because I was only there for a short time, but I will never forget the value of having a different perspective.
Relationships are valuable. They're extremely important. I enjoyed seeing the pagodas and eating a different type of food, but those things are fringes of what I'll remember most. I'm going to do my best to describe to you the images to follow, but there is so much story behind each of them that I hope you can grasp the full experience!
Much of our time was spent in one of these:
This is a cab (duh). Most drivers have some sort of religious tassel hanging from their rear-view mirror. Once, taking advantage of the fact that many people don't understand English, Jason turned to the driver and said, "So I see this cab is Budda-powered. How's that working out for ya?" Of course the driver paid no attention...but we laughed pretty hard.
This is a "taxi" as well.
On our first full day, we visited a nearby mountain that had some great views of the city. This is the entrance.
One example of "Chinglish". This is one side of a trash can- I'm guessing the side for non-recyclable items.
Gorgeous cherry blossoms.
Incense burning outside a temple.
The red ribbons are prayer ribbons- but I don't know the purpose of the lock.
This is sweet baby Carson with his daddy. Carson is just so precious- Lindsey and I wanted to take him home!
The women have an incessant habit of nosiness...especially when there's a baby around. :)
Some snapshots from the Meat Market.
This isn't the greatest repair feat we got to see...I wish I had taken a picture of the man atop a highwire, held up by his buddy and a bamboo ladder.
We got to go to a local park to visit some elderly people Jason and Lindsey made friends with last year. They all play a hackey-sack like game that we call "feather kick". These people may be older, but they are definitely in better shape than I am! Here's a cute one of Lindsey:
This man is the teacher of the game. He kept telling Lindsey and I to put our hands behind our backs so we didn't use them!
Check out Jason's outfit- he had it made last year. When we walked around the corner, the group recognized he and Lindsey immediately!
Remember the thing I said about nosiness?
They had a cool top game that turned out to be pretty hard.
Bishop trying his hand.
We got to be a part of a game night at a University. It was really fun- made a lot of new friends there.
The next day we got to hike out to a natural landbridge. Actually, we just got to hike out to the ocean. The tickets for the landbride were way overpriced, and we were up for a little adventure! Here is Lindsey and Air.
Lindsey and I. Sorry for the crazy arms! I was being lazy!
Some of the friends that came with us.
The Bishop deep in thought.
Marcus and Jason.
Our group!
Here's the view from our hotel room:
We ate at a Mongolian restaurant one rainy night. These geese lived outside the restaurant. They were either pets of the owners or future dinner...
One of our friends is an English professor at the University and asked us if we'd come speak to her students. Since it was a beginning English class, there wasn't much talking, but we did take a LOT of pictures!
We spent a full day in Beijing, which went from a beautiful sunny day to so foggy we started to worry that our flight would be cancelled.
On our last night, Katlyn took Lindsey and I to see an Acrobat show. It was amazing! I spent the entire time gawking and worrying they would fall!
There was a lady walking around patrolling the use of cameras, but I snuck one in. Take that, camera lady!
(Yes, this picture is of 10 girls on 1 bicycle!)
I had a wonderful time. I was amazed the things that God did in my own heart and the hearts of others as well. This won't be the last visit!
Blake + Stancy
3 CommentsI just LOVE these two. I love their hearts, the way they treat each other, and the excitement they have about their marriage. Stancy is a photographer herself, so it was wonderful to work with someone who's also been behind the camera. Check out her website!
We didn't stop laughing the entire time. I tried to practice some restraint while selecting my favorites, but it was tough! (I shot enough images during the session to equate to an entire wedding.)
We shot their engagement session on a wonderfully warm day. I brought Shanna along with me to gear up for wedding season.
A while back I saw this wall that someone had spray painted a silhouette of Rhett Butler and Scarlett O'Hara- I had to use it for a fun couple!
This one Blake came up with- I love it!
The next two are Shanna's. She does a great job of capturing things I never see!
Check out Blake's awesome thrift store find- a jacket with elbow pads! Nice!
Thanks so much you guys! Can't wait for your big day!
justin and lindsay • seniors
2 CommentsI had the pleasure of photographing Justin and Lindsay's senior pictures the week before I left for Asia. We had a fun time navigating through some interesting spots in east Lubbock. They were great sports and I really love some of the images we got. I can't wait to see where these two go!
And yes, they are twins!
'
This one was Justin's idea- he totally pulled it off!
Lindsay plays worship at her church. I loved having some music while shooting!
I'm back from East Asia, and I have so much to share with you!
personal3 CommentsWow, life has been running at such a fast pace this month- I got in from East Asia yesterday morning, and not only am I overwhelmed by the amount of work I have, but I am overwhelmed by God's provision for me to be able to have so many awesome opportunities. I am already hard at work- to for those clients who have been more than patient so far- thank you!
I'll be featuring my trip in an upcoming blog post, but first I wanted to share about the suprise I came home to! Lola had 5 adorable little puppies on April 17. She is a super Mommy, taking care of them round the clock. Willy even watches over them occasionally. They are all very healthy and happy.
We have 3 black females (one has a tiny white spot on her chin, just like our male Willy has), 1 black male, and 1 wheaten male (white). I hope you don't mind me keeping you updated on the pups! Here are a few pictures I took with my point-and-shoot yesterday.
Lola and her puppies in the whelping box.
Lola sleeping with the wheaten male. He is always found sleeping by her head, or ON her head. He's like a little polar bear!
Of course I'll have more pictures soon. We'll begin taking deposits for them in the coming weeks- email me if you are interested! lissa.anglin@gmail.com
