I had such a great time with Travis! He was totally laid-back and easy to work with. We began his session at the Rawls Golf Course where Travis has spent at least half his life (joking, but halfway serious!), and then headed over to Coronado to capture him in his Bell Crew stuff. For those of you who don't know, Bell Crew is an exclusive position for three Seniors. They must interview and audition for the role, and they are in charge of the large bell that Coronado has at every football game. When a touchdown is scored, the bell is rung, and the Bell Crew run the CHS banners up and down the field. Pretty cool!

mini sessions are in full swing!

I've so enjoyed shooting Christmas Mini-Sessions lately- spending time with some great families has been awesome! Here are two from last week:

The Fuller Family- is this not the most adorable family ever? I loved playing with these little girls so much.

The Ross Boys- I got to shoot their family session last year, and it was so great to see them again! These guys make me excited for a boy.

K'lyssa contacted me a while back about doing some portraits for her in celebration of her graduation from Texas Tech. I immediately liked her (helllooo, we almost have the same name!). K'lyssa is not only a well-educated educator, she is incredibly passionate about her field and is the kind of teacher I hope Knox is fortunate to have one day. Here are some of my favorites from our session.

I seem to have an obsession with the color orange lately...(NOT burnt orange, however, I am in the wrong town for that!)

K'lyssa is a self-proclaimed nerd (as am I) so she brought one of her obsessions- the Harry Potter books!

What a perfect day! The weather, the people, and the venue were absolutely gorgeous- not to mention there was so much love all around. Michael + Meredith were married at First Presbyterian Church in Amarillo, which had no lack of pretty places to shoot. I totally enjoyed Meredith's laid-back attitude and the fact that the whole event had been planned perfectly. Now for the images!

LOVED Meredith's wedding dress by Bellisima.

Michael and Meredith each sent a note to each other before the ceremony. Michael's note was accompanied by a pretty little blue box (THE Tiffany's robin egg blue to be exact)!

The ring on the left was what it contained. Beautiful and so special.

.

Meredith's father picked up this sixpence over 35 years ago while traveling in Europe- before he had even met his wife!

The reception was held just down the street at the Khiva Shrine. It was the perfect setting for a delicious dinner catered by Cattle Call and cake by Tina Massengale. (Which were also my choices for my own reception almost 5 years ago!)

HELLOO awesome getaway car!

I loved Meredith's advice for future brides:

Take a few days either before or after your wedding to open presents, put them away and clean out all the boxes before you have to go back to work. Trust me, it's worth it!

Oh, and remember to LAUGH. There will be so many things that don't go exactly right, and if you let them get to you, it will ruin your day! So laugh!

Last week I had a lovely photoshoot with Lubbock photographer Hannah Foley and her husband, Jeremiah. I've known Hannah since they moved here a couple of years ago (wow, has it been that long?). We realized we had several friends in common and then decided to be friends ourselves! I have so enjoyed getting to know Jeremiah and Hannah- they are fabulous and gracious people with real hearts for the Lord. We began our shoot at their newly-purchased home in Tech Terrace and then took their Scottie, Posh, for a walk around the neighborhood. (Yes, Posh is the smallest female from Willy and Lola's last litter- it was so crazy to see my dogs' personalities in hers!)

You might recognize Chloie from her appearances on the blog HERE, HERE, and HERE- I've had the privilege of photographing this sweet girl all her life! Now she's 3, and is as precious as ever. This little girl has some sass and some hilarious comments, which kept her parents and I entertained during our shoot! Here are some of my favorites from the other day:

Lance and Taleigh were married at the newly-remodled Merket Alumni Center on the Texas Tech campus. It was a beautiful, crisp October day and there was so much to photograph! From the get-go, I have appreciated Taleigh's intentionality and thoughtfulness in the planning of her wedding day. It was so neat to see it all fall into place- and to see she and Lance as husband and wife! I've been ogling over these images for the past week, and now it's time to show them to my faithful blog readers- thankfully, Lance and Taleigh sent me a little post-wedding feedback from their honeymoon in Costa Rica! (I told you I have AWESOME couples!)

Lance and Taleigh both exchanged notes to each other before the ceremony- and each was so sentimental and sweet. Taleigh started to laugh as she read Lance's note, because he'd written, "I have no doubt that this will not work!"- haha, he had a LOT on his mind that day. It made for a refreshing laugh in the midst of all the preparation.

Lots of gorgeous autumn-inspired florals from Market Street.

I love this moment between Taleigh and her mom.

Taleigh had seen Monica's wedding on my blog and loved the idea of giving her dad a gift before the wedding. She gave him a handkerchief and something I thought was awesome and funny...her Discover card!

Lance and Taleigh didn't want to "see" each other before- but they did get to talk to each other!

Hello October.

Something I didn't know till this wedding- when you get married at the Merket, you get a brick in the courtyard!

Taleigh's Mom and sisters put a lot of time and effort into the centerpieces at the reception. They were a perfect mix of Taleigh's vintage flair and Lance's love for hunting. So pretty!

Taleigh's advice to future brides: Enjoy it! Let everyone else take care of everything. Don't sweat the small stuff! Don't forget to have fun with your wedding party and guests!

I totally agree.

Thanks so much, you guys! Congratulations!

I heard from Ashlee before she was ever actually engaged. It was the sweetest email- just saying that one day, I'd get to do her engagement session. I loved it- and of course, it made me super excited for the day she emailed back and said, "Let's do it!". Parker pulled off a very romantic proposal, and these two will be tying the knot this next summer in Mexico. I couldn't be more excited for them- they are pretty fantastic together. We started off their session with their puppy, Lexi-

And then headed to their alma mater...

And finally, it was time to get fancied up in a three piece suit and the dress he picked out and gave her for the proposal...

I know- my clients are awesome! Congrats, you guys!

Okay, everyone- these guys are one super cool family. Not only did they go along with every unusual idea I had, they made it so much fun! We had such a perfect session- and I'm pretty sure Miss Amaris needs to be modeling for Pottery Barn or Gap- that hair is gorgeous! Here are some of my favorites from their session:

Maria and I are due about the same time- I loved the booties she rocked out!

Meet Nibbles the puppy! He was the sweetest thing.

From the first time I met Ashley, I knew we would get along great! She is super easygoing and nice, and her fiance Bobby is just the same. We had a great morning photoshoot- the weather was cool and breezy. I enjoyed getting to incorporate some things that were special to them into their shoot- Texas Tech (which is not unusual for my clients), basketball, and a few places in downtown Lubbock. Their shoot made me so excited for their wedding- I have the best couples for 2011!

I love it when they wrap the statue at Tech- the streamers are so fun!

Yes, I made them do the pose on the right- and even though they felt a little cheesy- I think it's cute! Thanks for going along with my nutty ideas, guys.

The nice owners of the Watson building saw us shooting nearby and invited us in- the light was fantastic in there!
