I was so excited to see these kids again after our session last year when their Mommy was pregnant. I couldn't wait to meet little Addison, and I knew her big brother and sister would be adorable as ever. These kids are all so sweet- with each other, with their parents, with me- they patiently listened to all of my crazy ideas and even obliged to the several "just one more picture" requests. I loved the fall colors here- makes me so excited for this season! I've already made myself some pumpkin muffins. Thanks Caleb, Avery, and Addison for getting me in the mood. :)

After we'd shot for a while, it was time to have a little fun. So this...

turned into this- which I love- in all it's blurry goodness.

And it was totally worth being covered in grass to get this:

It's always an honor when past clients come back to see me- so THANK YOU Lori! I will always want to have fun with your family!

I'm not kidding when I say this- the couples I get to work with are honestly some of the coolest, most fun, good-looking people. Seriously. I must just attract them. :)

Stephen + Sarah are no exception. They are not only totally laid-back and easy to talk to, they are some big time smarty-pants. Sarah just finished her MBA and Stephen works as an architect. Plus, they're in love- which makes them extra fun to photograph.

These two are big fans of Oreos and milk. (Who isn't?) So much, in fact, that they are going to incorporate them into their wedding- so we had to take a few with some Oreos!

After we shot the above images, Stephen mentioned that we could go to the Nabisco distribution warehouse nearby- so we did! Unfortunately, they did not have a gigantic wall of Oreos to take photos in front of like we'd hoped, BUT they DID have an Oreo costume!!!

Ahhh, I'm so excited to show these gorgeous little girls to you. They are the daughters of my friends Gabriel and Casye- who I've known for a long time. I'm always so honored when my friends hire me to capture their lives- it's such a blessing to me. We had a fun time playing in the park and being girly in tutus. :) Capturing a 2 year old and a newborn is not always easy- but it allowed me to look for new angles and approaches. There's nothing I love more than images of kids that make you feel like you're playing right along with them. Here are some of my faves:

I am so happy to finally post this wedding for you guys! It's one of those that I'm personally attached to- and have had the pleasure of seeing it be planned from day one when Michael + Heather got engaged. Heather has such a unique style and I loved getting to see all the fun details she incorporated. It was a gorgeous July day, and we had the perfect setting for their wedding- the Lubbock Civic Center Rock Garden. Now, onto the images!

Heather WOULD have a custom made coffee cozy in her wedding colors. This is why we are friends.

Heather wore her grandmother's pearls that were given to her on her wedding day by her grandfather.

This bouquet was incredible! It was made entirely of antique jewelry from Michael's family- his first watch was even included- set to the time of the ceremony.

Heather said: It included brooches from so many Godly women who have been a part of Michael's life going back 5 generations! It was made by the amazing Amanda and is very sturdy! I am SOOOO excited to have this as a keepsake for life and to pass it down if I have a daughter one day!

Heather + Murry's First Look was very special. Here's what she had to say about it: I had been in many weddings before mine and knew the difference it could make in the day when you chose to have a First Look. This was something Lissa never had to talk me into because I was sure that a First Look would make the day much more relaxed, and it WAS! After the wedding we immediately got to enjoy time with our family and friends and that was very important to us!

Michael's super-talented mother made this ring bearer pillow along with homemade jam for the guests. (I enjoyed it for quite a while after the wedding!)

Miss Kaitlyn did a great job tending to the typewriter/guestbook. As guests entered, they would write messages to the bride and groom which would be transcribed by Kaitlyn into the typewriter!

The ceremony was conducted by a good friend and he made it so personal- and funny! It was an awesome time of worship.

Lots of awesome (and ridiculous) dancing ensued.

Congrats you guys! I'm so thankful you are a part of my life- thank you for letting me capture this for you!

Have I mentioned that I LOVE seniors? Especially ones that are enthusiastic, fun, and up for anything- which describes Brytin pretty well! This girl is pretty much involved in EVERYTHING at her school, and I have a feeling she is pretty darn good at it all as well. :) Brityn was smart to get her portraits done in the fall when it is still warm and green outside, and you still have a summer tan! We had a great session- here are some of my favorites:

I'm not going to lie, this next image was a total accident. I was getting adjusted and my finger just happened to hit the shutter. Happy accident!

Thanks, Brityn, for being so patient while I sorted through my computer issues. Hope they were worth the wait!

P.S. 2011 Seniors- be sure to enter my "Shoot Me For Free Contest"! I'm giving away a FREE photoshoot along with a Canon Powershot digital camera- plus iTunes giftcards!

Today I'm sharing some images of Heather's bridal session. We had a great time and went out with a specific purpose in mind- something totally different! So, we ended up with a cement landscape and several items that matched Heather's personality. I have to be honest, it was an adjustment for me to shoot with this type of twist- but I'm so thankful for friends (and clients) who trust me to just be creative and explore new ideas. In the end, we came out with images that are totally Heather!

baby a's gender reveal party

lissa-anglin9 Comments

After almost a month of waiting, we finally got to find out if Baby A is a Miss or a Mister! It was such a fun time- we were so blessed by the people that cared so much for us and our new little family to come and be so enthusiastic. I love an excuse to have a party, and I would totally suggest this to anyone who is wanting to find out the gender of their baby in a fun and memorable way.

Zach and Shanna were kind to offer their home for the event, and with our busy schedules lately- I wanted to make sure putting it together was as simple as possible! We gave Aunt Norie's Confections free reign as to what the cake would look like- and they did a fabulous job. It was yummy- and undeniably BLUE on the inside. Add to that some cookies, ice cream, several types of carbonated beverages...and we had a party!

We asked the guests to wear pink or blue depending on what they predicted it would be. Here's my Dad (who the baby will call "Rusty") in his shirt! Totally appropriate! My Mom also got Shawn some pins to wear- this one says "World Class Baby Maker". Ha!

The Anglins

The Rustens (minus Lauren)

Team BLUE

Team PINK

Finally! Time to cut the cake!

Here's a quick video of the cake cutting. Apparently my Mom started jumping up and down and ran into the shelf behind us- thankfully no one or no thing was hurt!

Thanks so much to all who came out! You made us feel so loved! Thank you also to Shanna for taking these pictures for us- they are priceless!

These two have scored major points in my book. Let me tell you why-

After rescheduling their shoot once (which isn't easy with their busy schedules), they drove into Lubbock with their 3 dogs. It just so happened that a torrential downpour was planed to hit Lubbock at 4:00, which was exactly the time we decided to start shooting. "No worries," I told them, "storm clouds make for fantastic pictures!" Still, they had great attitudes. We headed out to our location and proceeded to let the dogs run free for a bit. One found the creek and ended up wet, but it was ok! I could tell we had about 15 minutes before we'd all be soaking anyway. Miraculously, we were able to get the dogs, signs, and couple in place for the perfect shot! Travis and Haley had such great can-do attitudes through it all- which is just what I needed to make it happen. Sure enough, right after we got the image we'd been going for, the rain came. And just to add to their awesomeness, they were able to come back to finish the shoot a week or so later. I have the BEST clients.

the fancy booth @ jeremy + kirby's wedding

The Fancy Booth was such a fun addition to Jeremy + Kirby's reception- so many fun guests! It was something that Kirby (as the bride) said she would definitely recommend having, and she also said, "Having the Fancy Booth brought me so much joy too- The set-up was amazing, and I loved that everyone was making such a great time out of it!". Here are some of my favorites!
